My Heart Is With The Elderly
“My heart has always led me to work with the elderly or disabled. People ask me how do you stand to work in a nursing home. My response is I try to the best for those residents each day and try to improve their quality of life. My work at the facility requires me to speak to families about their loved one’s medical condition or if they have had a decline in physical or cognitive conditions. I always feel empathy for them as they make hard decisions concerning their family member.” — Jeff Wilder, Administrator
Our Administrator, Jeff Wilder, has served as president of the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce. During his tenure as Administrator, Wilder has served on numerous boards and committees in the Tri-City area and in Harlan County. He currently serves on the board of the Harlan County Committee on Aging and has served past stints on the Harlan County Ethics Board, the Rotary Club, the E-911 board and the Kentucky Coal Museum Board.
The facility has been awarded the Heath Care Award by the Tri-City Chamber of Commerce and a now retired nursing assistant received the Health Care Provider of the Year award from the Harlan County Chamber of Commerce. Our facility was honored to be associated with both of these prestigious awards from the local community.
The facility has been previously recognized by the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF).
The facility has been open since 1997, and we are proud that 18 employees have been here for more than 10 years. Some have worked here since opening day.
Of the five full-time therapists who work for Tri-Cities Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, all have been here six or more years, and three have worked in our facility ten years or more.
